The Wagiman Guwardagun Rangers work on Aboriginal Land Trust lands to support Traditional Owners to manage and protect country.  Together these land trust areas cover 130,000 hectares of country and include the Wagiman and Upper Daly Aboriginal Land Trusts. The ranger team works on fire, freshwater, weed and feral animal management, compliance activities plus biodiversity monitoring projects and cultural heritage protection works.  The position is responsible for leading the Wagiman Ranger Group and ensuring the effective delivery of land and freshwater management activities.  working collaboratively with CFC Program staff, to ensure that the integration of Traditional Owner insights and WH&S standards are at the forefront of all land and sea management activities. The Ranger Coordinator position is responsible for supervising, mentoring and developing local rangers to achieve the aspirations outlined in the Wagiman Healthy Country Plan 2024-2034. The position is responsible for the delivery and daily coordination monitoring and reporting for the Ranger groups operational service outcomes and performance in accordance with operational plans and NLC requirements.  What You Will Bring:You will bring strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities. Your problem-solving expertise, experience in dispute resolution, and community liaison will be essential, along with your demonstrated experience in asset management and basic maintenance of equipment. In addition to this, you will have: - Minimum Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management) or a relevant field and/or two (2) years relevant experience in a similar role.Previous experience managing program WHS and assets in a remote setting.Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading and motivating a small team.
