About the NLCThe Northern Land Council (NLC) was established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act in 1976, to assist Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands, waters and seas. Nearly 50 years on we continue to serve over 50,000 Aboriginal people of the Top End and remain committed to enhancing Aboriginal peoples social, political and economic participation by supporting their aspirations and amplifying their voices on a range of issues impacting on their lands, seas, culture and communities. About the RoleUnder the guidance of the Senior Asset Management Officer, the Asset Management Officer will be responsible for a wide range of asset management related functions, which are integral to supporting the NLC’s strategic objectives and continuity of business operations through the provision of asset management services, systems and infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesRespond to general asset enquiries to ensure that any asset management issues are resolved effectively and efficiently, including escalating any issues to the Senior Asset Management Officer.Maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders to foster good working relationships that encourage an environment of ongoing education, compliance and continuous improvement.Assist in the coordination and completion of site audits across the NLC’s regions, including undertaking stocktake, review and reconciliation of data.Assist with the development of asset management plans across the NLC’s sites in consultation with relevant stakeholders.Assist with coordination and completion of asset revaluations and whole of life cycle activities.Assist with the preparation of grants, risk management and insurance benchmarking activities.Undertake data entry and data analysis to generate reports fit for purpose to assist in the preparation of asset reporting.Willingness and ability to travel to remote areas by 4x4 vehicles or light aircraftsAbout youTo thrive in this role, you will have:Demonstrated high level cross-cultural, interpersonal and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively liaise, engage and coordinate across an organisation and to build productive working relationships with work colleagues, constituents and external stakeholders.Qualifications in Business, Asset or Facility Management and/or extensive work experience undertaking a similar role.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in asset management principles and practices including whole of life process, with the ability to manage and prioritise your projects and workload to meet deadlines.Excellent organisational skills, good attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, with the ability to determine work priorities, including working with minimal supervision, either individually or as part of a team.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a wide range of diverse people at all levels in a clear and concise manager.Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer‐focused service to a wide diversity of stakeholders including managing competing complex priorities in a timely manner.Intermediate experience in the use of Microsoft office software applications, including a working knowledge of computerised asset management systems/databases.Sound analytical and problem‐solving skills with the ability to be flexible and adapt in order to achieve outcomes.Remuneration and Benefits:Full-Time, PermanentLocation: DarwinSalary: $69,203 - $73,379AllowancesFBT exempt salary packaging benefits pay13.5% superannuation contribution5 weeks annual leave & 17.5% annual leave loadingCultural knowledge and lived experience is central to the work that we do.
