About the NLCThe Northern Land Council (NLC) was established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act in 1976, to assist Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands, waters and seas. About the RoleThe Resources and Energy Branch is responsible for managing the NLC’s contractual obligations and statutory functions and duties as they relate to minerals and energy exploration, production and associated activities. The Project Officer is responsible for providing a range of support to the Senior Project Officers of the Resources and Energy Branch, including in relation to communications, logistics, project management, reporting and administration.Key Deliverables IncludeSupport effective communications with strong customer focus between traditional Aboriginal owners, external stakeholders and NLC staff in relation to Resources and Energy Branch activities.Provide a high level of administrative and logistical support in compliance with NLC Policies and Procedures including:Communication with regional and other NLC staff in relation to on‐country activities of the Resources and Energy Branch, including drafting and distribution of meeting notices, notification and transport of Cultural Monitors and other communications with traditional Aboriginal owners.Source quotes, prepare cost estimates/ determined costs, record and maintain attendance lists, fuel vouchers, financial and other records (tax receipts, etc.).Assist organise logistics and associated bookings and payments in relation to consultations and travel; includes casual staff, travel bookings, catering, accommodation, vehicle/venue hire, equipment, purchase orders, reporting and associated administrative tasks.Maintain data in relevant NLC systems relating to consultations and travel arrangements.Create and maintain information records including in relation to casual staff, meeting notice registers, consultation notes and reports.Essential RequirementsCertificate IV in Project Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in end-to-end project management including administration, logistics and financial management.Demonstrated experience working in a field-based and office environment with an ability to prioritise, be flexible and problem solve to achieve desired outcomes within required timeframes.Demonstrated computer literacy, including the use of MS Office software and information/database systems and an ability to produce clear, concise and informative written documents to suit the audience.Demonstrated understanding of, and interest in, the lived experiences of Aboriginal people in the NLC region.Remuneration and BenefitsFull-Time, Fixed-Term contract (3 years)Location: DarwinAnnual Salary: Minimum of $78,724 plus 14% superannuation and district allowance (based on location and eligible dependents)Salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 and additional Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.Annual Airfare allowance (currently $2,724 net)Generous leave entitlements such as 5 weeks annual leave, 18 days personal leave per annum, paid Christmas shut down and study leave Cultural knowledge and lived experience is central to the work that we do.
