Would you like to work for one of the largest and oldest Indigenous organisations in Australia which provides services to around 50,000 Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory?About the NLCWe are responsible for assisting Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their lands and seas.  Our vision is to ensure that Aboriginal people benefit socially, culturally and economically from the secure possession of their land, waters and seas. About the RoleThis position is responsible for the coordination, planning and implementation of Indigenous cultural and land management activities across the South Eastern Arnhem Land (SEAL) IPA which covers 18,000 km2 of south eastern Arnhem Land from the Gulf of Carpentaria inland along the Roper River and includes Ngukurrand Numbulwar communities. The SEAL IPA Coordinator will work with Traditional Owners (TOs), rangers and other stakeholders to implement the SEAL IPA Management Plan and facilitate ongoing cultural and natural resource management planning and activities.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the implementation of the SEAL IPA Management Plan through supporting the SEAL IPA Steering Committee, Yugul Mangi and Numbulwar Rangers and project partners.Organise IPA Advisory Committee and TO meetings to ensure strong community ownership and governance over the IPA in regards to generating employment, skills development and good governance outcomes.Identify and develop governance, business, employment, funding and fee for service opportunities and prepare and develop submissions and proposals to meet the IPA management aspirations of the Traditional Owners.Actively support the Yugul Mangi and Numbulwar Ranger Coordinators and Ranger teams operating on the IPA to plan and undertake on country projects and activities, including ongoing management and maintenance of assets.About youTo thrive in this role you will have:Significant demonstrated knowledge, understanding and respect of Indigenous Australian culture, customs and society and the ability to gain and maintain credibility with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations to ensure all work produced and undertakenis culturally safe and appropriate.Tertiary qualifications in Cultural, Natural Resource Management or a related field or extensive practical experience working in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a wide range of people at all levels in a clear and concise manner.Excellent organisational skills, good attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, with the ability to determine work priorities, including working with minimal supervision, either individually or as part of a team.Proven ability to collect and analyse project data and prepare regular reports, reviews and submissions for a range of audiences.Remuneration and Benefits:Full-Time 3 year ContractLocation: DarwinSalary: $90,614 - $101,668AllowancesFBT exempt salary packaging benefits pay13% superannuation contribution5 weeks annual leave & 17.5% annual leave loadingCultural knowledge and lived experience is central to the work that we do.
