About the Role
The Northern Land Council (NLC) is looking for a highly organised Council Payments and Liaison Officer to support the Full Council, Executive Council and Regional Councils through accurate payments, travel coordination and professional liaison services. This role is ideal for someone with payroll or finance experience who enjoys working with people, values accuracy, and understands the importance of culturally respectful governance support.
About You
In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and processing Council payments, travel allowances and accommodation payments in line with NLC policies, payroll requirements and relevant legislation. You’ll also support Council logistics, including travel bookings, meeting attendance records and responding to member queries.
Working closely with the Coordinator Council Services and Council Secretary and Liaison Officer, you’ll ensure Council members are supported to participate fully in governance processes. You’ll maintain accurate records in systems such as TRIM, assist with reporting and audits, and contribute to continuous improvement of Council payment and logistics processes.
What You Will Bring
You are a detail-focused professional with experience in payroll, finance or payment processing who takes pride in accuracy, confidentiality and service delivery. You communicate clearly, work well in cross-cultural environments and understand the importance of respectful engagement with Aboriginal Council members.
