Lead organisational safety systems and capability
The Northern Land Council is seeking an experienced professional WHS Manager to lead organisational wellbeing health and safety across one of the Northern Territory’s largest Aboriginal organisations.
Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this role is responsible for the operational leadership and continuous improvement of the NLC’s Work Health and Safety Management System. The position supports leaders across the organisation to effectively strengthen organisational safety capabilities while maintaining safe, healthy and culturally respectful workplaces.
About the Role:
The WHS Manager is responsible for leading the organisation’s operational WHS function, management systems and contributing to organisational risk management relating to work health and safety matters.
You will translate organisational priorities into practical WHS programs and monitoring activities that support safe and compliant operations across a geographically dispersed workforce.
The role provides WHS advice to senior leaders to support strong legislative compliance and ensure the organisation remains prepared for regulator engagement.
Operating within delegated authority, the WHS Manager provides specialist WHS leadership across the organisation, escalates systemic safety risks and manages the WHS section budget.
