Superannuation

  • 14% superannuation contribution into the superannuation fund of your choosing
  • The NLC can facilitate contribution of additional amounts to your superannuation fund from either your pre-tax salary by way of salary sacrifice or your post-tax salary by automatically deducting such amounts from your fortnightly salary payment if requested to do so.
  • The NLC's default fund is Australian Super (MySuper product)
  • Salary Packaging

  • All Full Time and Part Time employees are entitled to salary packaging options through the NLC's nominated salary packaging provider (Community Business Bureau)
  • This is an optional service
  • Salary packaging does not reduce salary for superannuation purposes or any other purpose
  • Leave Provisions

  • All Full Time and Part Time employees are entitled to 4 weeks annual leave pro rata* per year of service (*pro rata - proportional to the hours worked according to your contract)
  • Darwin based employees are entitled to an additional week (5 weeks total)
  • Regional employees are entitled to an additional week and 2 days (5 weeks 2 days total)
  • All Enterprise Agreement Full Time and Part Time employees receive 17.5% annual leave loading
  • NLC offices are closed during the period from 25 December until the commencement of the first working day following 1 January (with no deduction from your accrued leave entitlements or flex credits)
  • All Full Time and Part Time employees are entitled to 18 days personal/carer's leave pro rata* per year of service (*pro rata - proportional to the hours worked according to your contract)
  • Up to 15 days Ceremonial leave

  • 3 day Compassionate Leave
  • Up to 12 weeks paid maternity leave
  • Up to 2 weeks paid parental leave
  • Up to 2 weeks supporting partner leave
  • Up to 50 weeks unpaid parental leave

  • Employees can opt to take an alternative day of leave in lieu of Australia Day

  • To compensate the costs of living in the NT, you are entitled to district allowance paid each pay period, on a pro-rata* basis (*pro rata - proportional to the hours worked according to your contract):
    • Darwin Employees without eligible dependants $2,539.27
    • Darwin Employees with one or more eligible dependants $4,631.04
    • All other Employees without eligible dependants $5,826.52
    • All other Employees with eligible dependants $9,411.68

  • Flexibility

    In addition to workplace flexibility options, the NLC has Flextime arrangements which provides a framework within which an your pattern of attendance can be varied from the standard hours of work to suit the operational requirements of the NLC and your needs

  • Flex credits and debits are accumulated on a 1:1 basis
  • Relocation (if applicable for the position level):
  • In some circumstances if you are required to relocate to commence your employment with the NLC, the NLC will pay for:

  • your airfare and airfare for your dependants, or reimburse up to the equivalent in flights
  • the cost of relocating household furniture, one vehicle and personal effects and insurance of those items up to $200,000
  • $2,698.11 for initial accommodation expenses which shall be paid in the first pay period
