The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Internal Audit & Compliance Officer to join our Governance, Compliance and Risk team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to good governance and compliance across a complex statutory organisation that serves Aboriginal people across the Top End of the Northern Territory.
About the Role
The Internal Audit & Compliance Officer plays a key role in delivering the NLC’s Internal Audit and Compliance Frameworks, contributing to a culture of good governance, integrity and continuous improvement. Working as part of the Governance, Compliance and Risk (GCR) Service Area. This role offers the chance to collaborate across the organisation, liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, and contribute to effective corporate governance that supports Traditional Owners and Aboriginal communities.
What you will bring:
We are looking for a candidate who brings strong governance, compliance or risk experience, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. Previous experience in supporting internal audit and compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures. You will have a working knowledge of internal compliance reviews ("health checks") and assisting to prepare reports to support continuous improvement. Monitoring and reporting against key corporate deadlines, including accurate dashboard reporting will allow you to thrive in this role
