Location: Darwin, NTPosition number: CP09Base salary range: SOGC $90,619 - $99,290 pa + allowancesContract term: Continuous ContractThe Northern Land Council (NLC) is responsible for assisting Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands and seas. Our key constituents are traditional owners and the residents on Aboriginal lands and a large majority of those live in regional and remote locations. The most important responsibility of the NLC is to consult with traditional landowners and other Aboriginal people with an interest in affected land. Landowners must give informed consent before any action is taken to affect their lands and seas. Achieving informed consent also ensures affected Aboriginal communities and groups have the chance to express their views.All  of this essential work, in addition to NLC's corporate transactions and communications produces a large volume of documents and records which need to be stored safely and securely. The Manager, Information & Records Management is responsible for leading a small team to ensure that all our records, the NLC library and archive services are carried out in accordance with the statutory obligations of the NLC. This position effectively manages and develops the NLC's Information Management team and processes to ensure accountability, compliance and preservation of heritage and cultural information, in accordance with legislative requirements, ISO Standards, National Australian Archive policies and standards.To be successful in this position you must have a good understanding of Aboriginal culture and society and the issues affecting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory.
